The Stipendium HUNGARICUM Scholarship Program is a Hungarian government initiative designed to enhance the educational ties between Hungary and other countries. It aims to attract talented international students to Hungarian higher education institutions and promote cultural diversity.
Furthermore, Stipendium HUNGARICUM, being the most prestigious higher education scholarship program of the Hungarian Government, offers a wide range of courses for international students with excellent academic track records.
Founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013, the program is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. It is based on bilateral education agreements between Hungary and the governments of the sending countries, and is already available on five continents in almost 80 countries and territories, attracting more than 5000 international students each year. * PhD students: around 140,000 HUF (approx. €390) for the first phase of education and 180,000 HUF (approx. €500) for the second phase.
* Accommodation Contribution: Either free dormitory placement or a monthly accommodation allowance of 40,000 HUF (approx. €110).
* Medical Insurance: Free health care services or a contribution towards health insurance.
