SLOVAKIA WORK PERMIT

GAMA HORA offers an official Slovakia Work Permit that provides the opportunity to obtain a Work Visa Type D for multiple entries, which is valid for one year. To apply for the Work Visa Type D, you will need to submit your application at the Embassy of Slovakia in your home/residence country.

APPLICATION PROCESS THROUGH EMBASSY OF SLOVAKIA IN IRAN:

IRANIAN AND AFGHAN NATIONALS, without a residence permit in another country, have to apply for visa at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Tehran.

What Type of Visa Do I Need?

National (long-stay) visa may be issued in relation to the granted residence permit or in connection with Slovakia´s commitments under international treaties or for the benefit of the Slovak Republic. It is allowed for long-term visa holders to travel to other member states (outside the frontier of the state who issued the visa), however the total of stay cannot exceed 90 days in any 180-day period and the traveler must comply with Schengen rules of travel.

When Should I apply for a Visa?

The visa application procedure may be lengthy in some cases. Therefore, you should file your application well in advance, but not earlier than three months prior to your planned trip.

Required Documents:

  • 1- Completed Application Form – The application must be signed by the applicant; in case of minors or persons lacking legal capacity, the application must be signed by their legal guardian who is required to attach a copy of the document identifying him/her as the applicant’s legal guardian.
  • 2- Full-Face Colour Photo, with dimensions of 3×3.5 cm.
  • 3- Valid Travel Document; the travel document must be valid for at least three months longer than the expected validity of the visa requested and it must have been issued within previous 10 years. The document shall contain at least 2 blank pages.
  • 4- Documents Demonstrating the Purpose and Conditions of the Planned Stay (a letter of invitation, a voucher in the case of an organized trip, work invitation etc.)
  • 5- Accommodation
    • voucher/reservation confirming hotel accommodation and services provided;
    • a personal letter of invitation confirming that the applicant will stay at the inviting person’s place;
    • other documents.
  • 6- Documents Confirming Sufficient Means of Subsistence.
    • cash in a freely convertible currency;
    • travel cheques;
    • a bank account statement confirming that the applicant has had a regular income (salary, pension) in the previous 6-12 months;
    • other documents safeguarding funds in a convertible currency.
  • *No general amount of funds to cover the costs of living is prescribed, but the funds must be sufficient for the length and purpose of stay and costs of living in the final country of destination or Schengen area countries.
  • At a Slovak border crossing the foreign nationals may be asked to demonstrate that they have sufficient means to cover the costs of living for the length of stay specified in the visa in the amount of EUR 56 per person per day.
  • 7- Flight Reservation
  • 8- Travel Medical Insurance – The travel insurance must be valid for all Schengen Member States and the entire length of the applicant’s stay. A minimum insurance coverage of EUR 30,000 is required. Family members of EU or EEA nationals are exempt from the obligation of submitting travel health insurance. Such exemption does not apply to the family members of the Slovak citizens.
  • 9- Other Documents – for the purposes of the visa application procedure, the embassy can ask foreign nationals to submit other documents in order to verify the applicant’s social status, family relations, declared purpose of the visit and applicant’s intention to return to his home country or the country of his residence (company registration, confirmation about employment, social insurance, confirmation about schooling, retirement income, birth or marriage certificate, title deed, etc.)

The e-mail requesting appointment must contain following data:

  • Name
  • Passport Number
  • Date of Birth

requested service (e.g., super legalization/verification or application for visa/residency with exact specification of the purpose and planned length of stay).

MORE INFO:

The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Tehran provides appointment slots for the period of no more than 4 months in advance. In January we provide appointments for April, in February for May, in March for June, etc. The slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be applied for only via the official e-mail address of the Consular Section of the Embassy: cons.tehran@mzv.sk

Please note that due to limited number of slots, priority is given to family members of the Slovak or EU citizens, persons entitled for D visa in interest of Slovakia (e.g., National/Governmental Scholarship Holders, students traveling through Erasmus) and applicants who have been already granted the permanent or temporary residence in the Slovak Republic – requesting D visa to collect the residency card.

PLEASE, IN YOUR REQUEST ALWAYS SPECIFY THE TYPE OF VISA (PURPOSE AND LENGTH OF STAY, HOSTING PERSON OR INSTITUTION) AND ATTACH THE COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT.

Visa Processing Time:

The visa application procedure takes generally 15 days, in exceptional cases taking of the decision can be extended up to 60 days.

The fees are paid in Euro currency at the time of submitting the application for a visa.

No administrative fee is charged for visa application filed by a third country national that is a family member of an EU or EEA national and exercise their right of free movement.

Application Process through Embassy of Slovakia in Pakistan:

From December 12, 2011 the PAKISTANI NATIONALS can apply for visa for a trip to Slovakia at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad. For national visa D and for residence permit applications it is obliged to contact the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Tehran.

Work Permit Package:

  • Written promise of an employer to employ the third country national (binding job offer), that contains requisites of a work contract
  • Accommodation Letter
  • Certificate of authenticity of the signature on the document
